The world-renowned annual Oktoberfest is back, celebrating the very best of German culture including traditional Bavarian entertainment, food and drink! Better still, it’s coming to Colchester on Saturday 26th October at Castle Park. The all-day event will be full of laughs, dancing and of course, the best German snacks you could wish for, including pretzels, bratwurst and the famous bier steins!

A monthly farmer’s market is to be relaunched next month at Colchester Arts Centre. Run by Suffolk Market Events, you can get your hands on some of the best local produce around, all from within a 30-mile radius.
If that wasn’t enough, this produce includes fudge, honey, award-winning bread and cakes and even fresh venison – see you there!

Gin lovers, rejoice! This one’s for you. The Charter Hall will be hosting a gin festival, complete with over 100 gins from around the world, live entertainment and free goodies!
For just £13.50 and a £2.50 booking fee, you can be transported on a gin journey like no other, with gins having been selected based on outstanding craftsmanship and delightful flavour. If you know your war art, you’ll know Alfred Munnings. In 1918, Munnings was appointed as a war artist in France and the paintings were eventually bought by the Canadian government.
The Munnings Art Museum in Colchester currently has loan of 41 of his war paintings, and this exclusive exhibition promises all that and more. For an educational day out, come along to the exhibition and catch a glimpse of what it was like to be there!
The exhibition is currently running until November 3rd.
Tickets are available at £8 for adults and under-5s go free.
