Providing professional concierge and manned guarding services for two venues in Bury St Edmunds. Operating across multiple locations, our security officers perform a wide range of duties designed to protect staff, property, performers and guests. We have continued to provide reliable and responsive security solutions that not only provide peace of mind but also offer front-of-house support and customer-facing hospitality.
Our event security team ensured the successful running of multiple events at Wherstead Park, a Grade-II listed Georgian mansion nestled in the heart of the Suffolk countryside. It is one of East Anglia's most popular and versatile venues for weddings, conferences, events, parties and filming. In addition to being the headquarters for the Co-op Group, it houses many other businesses on-site.
We provided a range of safety and security services for the Ipswich Regent Theatre, which was to play host to a sell-out performance by Paloma Faith. In preparation for the day, staff visited the venue and held a meeting with both the theatre’s duty manager and Paloma Faith’s tour manager. The principal tasks would be crowd management, door supervision and personal safeguarding. Once the client’s needs were fully defined, we set about developing a security plan.
Ipswich’s annual Music in the Park festival (also known as Ipswich Music Day) takes place on the first Sunday of July each year. One of the largest, free, one-day music events in the country, it is held at Christchurch Park. Stage Security was approached by the organisers and asked to provide on-site security. The organisers wanted to develop a robust site security plan that would minimise public risk and make provision for issues such as lost persons/property, first aid, and potential access by emergency service vehicles.
Launched in 2014, The Women's Tour is an international team cycling competition that covers almost 600km (370 miles) over five stages on consecutive days. Our brief was to provide safe start and finish conditions for the racers, a task that entailed working in 10 towns across East Anglia. We developed effective, location-specific crowd-control strategies and created secure areas for vehicles, bicycles, and competitors before and after each stage.
Back in 2012, in readiness for the London Olympics, a variety of athletes, celebrities and ordinary citizens carried the Olympic Torch the length of Britain. It passed through Ipswich on 5th July, watched by an estimated 75,000 spectators. Ahead of the event, the organisers contacted Stage Security and asked us to provide a security plan for the route through the town and into the neighbouring park. They also required support on the day, helping to manage crowds and keep both the torch and the runners safe.
The Ipswich Maritime Festival is an annual event which takes place over the August bank holiday weekend. There are also opportunities to watch the arrival of spectacular sailing yachts, to sample local art and to enjoy maritime-themed markets. The festival organisers appointed us to develop a local security plan and to provide stewards on the day to help ensure the safety of all participants.
Clacton Air Show is an annual event held between Clacton Pier and the Martello Tower. Typically, the two-day event attracts audiences of around 200,000. Recognising a need to maintain a safe public environment, Tendering District Council appointed Stage Security to provide SIA-licensed security staff to help manage the event on the day and to provide overnight security for the event arena, the exhibitors and their goods.
