Stage Security provided a range of safety and security services for the Ipswich Regent Theatre, which was to play host to a sell-out performance by Paloma Faith.
In preparation for the day, staff visited the venue and held a meeting with both the theatre’s duty manager and Paloma Faith’s tour manager. The principal tasks would be crowd management, door supervision and personal safeguarding. Once the client’s needs were fully defined, we set about developing a security plan.
A detailed plan enabled all staff to assume their positions quickly and to know their individual roles on the night. Staff ensured that fans waiting outside were safe and orderly, especially by the roadside, and that they were able to enter the venue in a smooth and controlled manner.
The performances – by the support act and by Paloma Faith herself – were enjoyed by the capacity crowd and proceeded without a hitch.
Afterwards, we met with Paloma and her tour manager and escorted her to meet her fans for signings and photographs. After the show we cleared the auditorium and made sure people left calmly and safely.
The event was a great success and the fans left feeling very well entertained. By way of appreciation Paloma herself posed for a photograph with a couple of members of our team.
